The Pacific Ep8

This episode was about 40 mintues of romance and 10 minutes of Iwo Jima battle. I know I have said before that this series could use some character development but in this episode we get way too much.

It's easy to see how this series is different to Band of Brothers. The Pacific is three seperate stories on three people who don't really have any connection with each other at all. This is where this show suffers as a solid story can never be told as we can never really centre on the one group (like in BoB). This is more like a collection of short stories if anything.

Basilone's lady had nice cans though.....

Lost S6E14

Hey everyone. Round Thee Twist invited me to write on this blog, so I decided to thank him by snaking a Lost post.

So, being this close to the end of the final season, all bets are off. I kinda knew some heavy deaths were coming with the glib way they sent Ilana packing. Still, I have to say I choked up a bit when Jin and Sun had their scene together.

R.I.P. SUN - YOU MADE LOST EASY ON THE EYE

Sayid had gone creepy for a while, so his death didn't really hit as hard. Can't make an omlette, etc. Also, as tragic as Sun and Jin were, I did think during the scene 'Well, you have a kid now. Maybe one of you should survive?" Dick move, writers. Way to not think about the children.

Maybe Kate will set up an orphanage when she gets back?

The whole parallel universe they've got going on seems to matter a fair bit, considering Desmond, who knows some shit, tried to whack Locke after Locke pushed him in a well back on the island, plus all the other people being aware of it (Libby, etc). My current theory is that if you die on the island you wind up there. My theory about that theory is that I don't know what the fuck is going on.

As for the on-the-island action, some serious shit went down. It's getting fucking hard to figure out who to root for. Obviously not Locke. Sawyer wants to get off the island, and doesn't trust Locke, but now they are pitting him against Jack. Jack seems, well, a little crazy, although him wanting to stay does buy into the whole Jacob/Man In Black thing, and for the whole show he's been the person everyone looks to despite spending most of the last god knows how long being a whiny bitch.

At the end, Hurley cried (devastating), as did Jack (meh). Then Locke picked up a gun back on the dock and stomped off. Shit is forecasted to go down again in a week.

Jack has spent approximately 0.0001% of his time on screen smiling.

Family Guy S8 Ep17

The 150th Family Guy episode is very special indeed. It is an hour long, no cut away gags and basically just dialogue between Stewie and Brian as they are stuck in a vault.

This episode is so different yet probably one of the best I've ever seen. The dialogue between Brian and Stewie reveals concepts we never thought would see in Family Guy. One moment we are laughing at something stupidly funny, then we squirming at something really gross, what we don't see coming is the way it ends which is really something to remember.
After the vault episode we are shown some deleted song scenes. These are a real waste of time and probably only thrown in to make the episode just that much longer.

South Park S14 Ep7

After churning out two awesome episodes we get given this steaming pile of turd for an episode. Worst episode of the season so far that centres around Towlie's intervention and a personal fued that Nathan has with Jimmy.

You could see that the characters at the camp resembled old cartoon characters but this wasn't actualy funny at all.

Here's hoping for a better episode next week.

The Pacific Ep7

OK episode, pretty much just more of what we saw in episode 6 really. A few people die here and there but we fail to really recognize the significance because we can't tell who it is that has been killed and they don't actually show the person being shot.

Two episodes to go and i really think they will just be more of the same but on a different island. This series has just seemed to focus on three central characters and show them surviving the war. Only one of them has done anything AWESOME......

SO GANGSTA!

Underbelly S3 Ep4

Solid episode this week. Is it me or has this show changed since the opening 2 episodes? We didn't see ANY titty bar conversations in this episode. That's pretty crazy for Underbelly.

Anyway this week we were introduced to a new likable bad guy - Benny Kassab. We see his humble beginnings and within minutes of helping out another bouncer he scores a new job and is shortly raking in the money. I'd like to see what sort of inspiration other viewers are getting from this and Ibrahim's similar story. Are we about to see a bunch of hectic dudes parade around Kings Cross STOPPING fights and helping bouncers?

In another story arc in the series - Kim Hollingsworth, We still haven't really progressed further than it being an excuse for T&A scenes. History says that this side of the story will eventually play a big part but so far we haven't seen much happening in the Kings Cross underworld from this side of the story.

South Park S14 Ep6

The 200th episode trod on such a fine line it was hard to see where they were going to go with this one but from the start it was obvious they wanted to tell more of a story then show everyone how close they could go to causing extreme uproar. This was partially due to the producers deciding to censor everything out about Muhammad, even the closing speeches made at the end are taken out!

Yesterday this statement was made by Stone and Parker: http://www.southparkstudios.com/news/3878

Despite the heavy censorship this episode still delivers. We find out who Cartman's father is and we see some old characters like Dr Mephisto make comebacks.
