Breaking Bad S3 Ep11

Another slower paced episode here. We've had two in a row and I think it's all due to the fact that Hank is all busted up in hospital.

We have now been shown the effect of what Walt and Jesse's work is doing to the people directly around them. Hank is probably the most affected now since he lost his shit on Jesse's face and is now in hospital thanks to those Mexican twins of destiny (RIP)

To show the Heisenberg legacy from another perspective in this episode we meet Andrea. Jesse tries to sell her meth but then find out her little brother killed his friend Combo. We met Combo's mother and saw his room a few episodes ago when Jesse was being tracked down so we can now see what purpose that scene served.

We see Skyler warming to Walt more. Do we want this? Her character has just been an insane bitch the whole season I think she needs to follow in Rita from Dexter's footsteps (THEY ARE THE SAME CHARACTER ANYWAY)

At the end of the episode we are left with two things - Walt is told "Never make the same mistake twice" and Jesse meets Combo's killers face to face.

I think shit is about to hit the fan for another epic season finale.

The poolside rape scene really damaged the Walt Jr and Hank dynamic

Underbelly S3 Ep7

OK so this series has quickly deteriorated into a bigger steaming pile of utter turd than it already was. The Golden Mile was supposed to be about John Ibrahim's climb to the top yet all this show seems follow is the utterly boring story of Kim Hollingsworth.

Don't get me wrong, Sunday's episode did provide us with THE MOST ROCKING SET OF CANS we have seen in Underbelly to date but surely they can put something between these sorts of scenes to make the show worth watching.

Lost S6E15

I was crazy jazzed to write about Lost this week, and then I watched it.

Seriously, J.J. Abrams must have balls the size of planets to think he could get away with making that horse shit the fourth last episode of the show. A brief synopsis is that we find out how Jacob and the man in black came to the Island. That's it. We see them as kids, then as adults. They showed where the Smoke Monster came from too, although as to what the fuck it is the writers remain tight-lipped. There were a few 'a-haaaa' moments, like when you realise the man in black's short sword is the dagger that keeps getting passed around when some poor schmoe has to try and stab Locke/Jacob, but that is fucking small change considering the answers we need.
Ultimately, it was pretty much a waste of 45 minutes.

So, instead, I'm going to call the end result of the show.

BOOM - The new Jacob

BOOM - The new Man In Black

This is probably what the last shot will look like.

What, you got Alison Janney but Justin Beiber was busy?

BLUE HEELERS 2087 - A Square Eyez Spin-off

Every now and again Square Eyez will be posting a series of possible spin-offs which we think would be totally awesome to watch. Our first installment is: Blue Heelers 2087

The year is 2087. Traditional cities like Sydney and Melbourne have been ravaged by nuclear war and Mount Thomas is now a sprawling city and home to 12 million people, space aliens and a brooding, evil underground of crime.

Due to a lack of skills, and the fact that crime has been highly fashionable since 2068 there is a drastic lack of police in Mount Thomas and the city is forced to undertake human cloning to provide the necessary police numbers. The first two officers cloned are Senior Sergeant Tom Croydon and Constable Maggie Doyle who both died about 80 years ago in the great Ratings War.

Helping them fight crime they have enlisted the help of the Alien war hero Krong Dust.

Krong Dust is a military legend on his home planet Dolphine and with him the two officers must come to grips with a world so new to them whilst enduring the violent crimes they come up against in a day to day struggle of morality and justice.

Entourage S7 Ep1 Preview

HBO have released the official description for the first episode - "Stunted"

The director of Vince's latest action film talks his star into doing his own driving stunt, agitating both Eric and Ari. Turtle's attraction to an under performing employee named Alex threatens to damage his fledgling car service business. Ari looks to add to his resume as "the biggest agent in the world" by eying an alliance with the NFL. Worried that his holding deal is about to expire, Drama pressures Lloyd, now his agent, to land him a project.

So it looks like season 7 will continue to do what season 6 did with giving the individual characters their own story to follow rather than have stories based around Vince.

30 Rock S04E20

A bunch of stuff happened in 30 Rock this week. Some of it was very funny. However, I'm going to get right to the point of why it's a great episode, even if that fact hangs on a mere 1 and a half minutes

BUZZ MOTHERFUCKING ALDRIN!

And they got him to act like a crazy old man!!!

Every once in a while, 30 Rock hits a Golden-Era-Simpsons level genius with its guest casting (See James Franco playing a Japanese body pillow loving version of himself). But Buzz Aldrin is so out of left field, it's almost shot straight to number one, with a serious contender for the best 30 Rock line of all time:

"Would you like to yell at the Moon with Buzz Aldrin?"

Oh, and a big shout out for the return of Verna, Jenna's mum.

The Pacific Ep8

This episode was about 40 mintues of romance and 10 minutes of Iwo Jima battle. I know I have said before that this series could use some character development but in this episode we get way too much.

It's easy to see how this series is different to Band of Brothers. The Pacific is three seperate stories on three people who don't really have any connection with each other at all. This is where this show suffers as a solid story can never be told as we can never really centre on the one group (like in BoB). This is more like a collection of short stories if anything.

Basilone's lady had nice cans though.....

Lost S6E14

Hey everyone. Round Thee Twist invited me to write on this blog, so I decided to thank him by snaking a Lost post.

So, being this close to the end of the final season, all bets are off. I kinda knew some heavy deaths were coming with the glib way they sent Ilana packing. Still, I have to say I choked up a bit when Jin and Sun had their scene together.

R.I.P. SUN - YOU MADE LOST EASY ON THE EYE

Sayid had gone creepy for a while, so his death didn't really hit as hard. Can't make an omlette, etc. Also, as tragic as Sun and Jin were, I did think during the scene 'Well, you have a kid now. Maybe one of you should survive?" Dick move, writers. Way to not think about the children.

Maybe Kate will set up an orphanage when she gets back?

The whole parallel universe they've got going on seems to matter a fair bit, considering Desmond, who knows some shit, tried to whack Locke after Locke pushed him in a well back on the island, plus all the other people being aware of it (Libby, etc). My current theory is that if you die on the island you wind up there. My theory about that theory is that I don't know what the fuck is going on.

As for the on-the-island action, some serious shit went down. It's getting fucking hard to figure out who to root for. Obviously not Locke. Sawyer wants to get off the island, and doesn't trust Locke, but now they are pitting him against Jack. Jack seems, well, a little crazy, although him wanting to stay does buy into the whole Jacob/Man In Black thing, and for the whole show he's been the person everyone looks to despite spending most of the last god knows how long being a whiny bitch.

At the end, Hurley cried (devastating), as did Jack (meh). Then Locke picked up a gun back on the dock and stomped off. Shit is forecasted to go down again in a week.

Jack has spent approximately 0.0001% of his time on screen smiling.

Family Guy S8 Ep17

The 150th Family Guy episode is very special indeed. It is an hour long, no cut away gags and basically just dialogue between Stewie and Brian as they are stuck in a vault.

This episode is so different yet probably one of the best I've ever seen. The dialogue between Brian and Stewie reveals concepts we never thought would see in Family Guy. One moment we are laughing at something stupidly funny, then we squirming at something really gross, what we don't see coming is the way it ends which is really something to remember.
After the vault episode we are shown some deleted song scenes. These are a real waste of time and probably only thrown in to make the episode just that much longer.

South Park S14 Ep7

After churning out two awesome episodes we get given this steaming pile of turd for an episode. Worst episode of the season so far that centres around Towlie's intervention and a personal fued that Nathan has with Jimmy.

You could see that the characters at the camp resembled old cartoon characters but this wasn't actualy funny at all.

Here's hoping for a better episode next week.

The Pacific Ep7

OK episode, pretty much just more of what we saw in episode 6 really. A few people die here and there but we fail to really recognize the significance because we can't tell who it is that has been killed and they don't actually show the person being shot.

Two episodes to go and i really think they will just be more of the same but on a different island. This series has just seemed to focus on three central characters and show them surviving the war. Only one of them has done anything AWESOME......

SO GANGSTA!

Underbelly S3 Ep4

Solid episode this week. Is it me or has this show changed since the opening 2 episodes? We didn't see ANY titty bar conversations in this episode. That's pretty crazy for Underbelly.

Anyway this week we were introduced to a new likable bad guy - Benny Kassab. We see his humble beginnings and within minutes of helping out another bouncer he scores a new job and is shortly raking in the money. I'd like to see what sort of inspiration other viewers are getting from this and Ibrahim's similar story. Are we about to see a bunch of hectic dudes parade around Kings Cross STOPPING fights and helping bouncers?

In another story arc in the series - Kim Hollingsworth, We still haven't really progressed further than it being an excuse for T&A scenes. History says that this side of the story will eventually play a big part but so far we haven't seen much happening in the Kings Cross underworld from this side of the story.

South Park S14 Ep6

The 200th episode trod on such a fine line it was hard to see where they were going to go with this one but from the start it was obvious they wanted to tell more of a story then show everyone how close they could go to causing extreme uproar. This was partially due to the producers deciding to censor everything out about Muhammad, even the closing speeches made at the end are taken out!

Yesterday this statement was made by Stone and Parker: http://www.southparkstudios.com/news/3878

Despite the heavy censorship this episode still delivers. We find out who Cartman's father is and we see some old characters like Dr Mephisto make comebacks.

Lost S3 Ep13

Well after 1, maybe 2 seasons of bizarre plot lines, watching Jack be an emo bitch and seeing Hurley just get fatter even though he spends his days power walking all over the island I think this season is making persevering with the show all worthwhile.

The first 8 episodes aren't that special but when you hit the 9th - Ab Aeterno ( aka the Richard episode aka Return of the flashbacks) that's when the show becomes instantly amazing and you are reminded how good Lost can be.

In this week's episode we get dealt even more questions than answers and in the sideways flashes we see the characters crossing paths again. Is it just me or are these side flashes just not interesting? I can't see the point of these parts because the reality that matters is the one on the island not in the bizarro non-island world.

DUDE STOP SINGING THAT KE$HA SONG

The Pacific Ep 6

OK this show just does not live up to the Band of Brothers hype bestowed upon it. It is still very good to watch but it is hard to watch it and not think it could have been a whole lot better. A common complaint i keep hearing is that there has been no character development thus far. We are already 6 episodes in and still don't really know any of the characters by name with Leckie and Sledge the exceptions. Episode 6 is the best so far but on a whole this show fails to grab you like BoB did.

Trivia: The guy playing Eugene Sledge is the kid from Jurassic Park

Underbelly S3

Ahhh good old Underbelly. Australian drama at its worst yet you seem to still watch it. Each episode seems to follow the same formula - follow around likable bad dude, show a titty bar, show some violence, show bad dude getting rich, show bad dude getting laid, bad dude gets busted/hurt. Usually each of these steps are in a montage.

Season 1 was too cheesy for me to take seriously. Season 2 upped the game a bit more but starred Matt "I hit girls" Newton and Kate "I'm not Sally anymore" Ritchie. The first 3 episodes have been pretty good to watch, the first 2 more so. I was thinking that this season would be the best one yet until the guy playing Danny Karam showed up. This guy is pretty special!

Did you know that the guy playing John Ibrahim was the Red Power Ranger?

Due to budget cuts, real guns could not be used in this season

South Park – 200th Episode

I can still remember the first time they showed this show on SBS. Straight after i had to call up a buddy of mine to share the disbelief and joy in what i had just seen. 13 years on and we have hit the 200th episode.

To tell you the truth i think this show has been slowly dying since season 10 but in the current season we see one of the best episodes ever which features Randy hopping around on his cancer swollen balls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQo53v9MP60

The 200th episode brings back just about every person the show has ever offended. It is brilliant!
